Известны способы получени  терефталевои кислоты или ее слол ного диметилового эфира из полиэфиров терефталевои кислоты путем омылени  или щелочами, или кислотами, или переэтерификацией под давлением с металлом. Известные способы неэкономичны, так как требуют применени  химических реактивов и дополнительных процессов осаждени  и очистки.Methods are known for preparing terephthalic acid or its salt dimethyl ester from polyethers of terephthalic acid by saponification or by alkalis, or acids, or by transesterification under pressure with metal.
