Description
To convert accelerations into displacements, inertial-type linear acceleration sensors are used with an air de-damper and with a forced rotation of the element, which serves to guide the inertial mass along the sensor's sensitivity axis. The damping device of such sensors, usually made in the form of a copper cup, moving in a permanent magnet field, has a considerable weight and size and does not contain adjustments. The use of an air damper in these sensors is practically implied in view of the fact that the friction between the piston and the cylinder of the damper is so significant that it eliminates the effect of the rotation of the guide axis.
The proposed sensor is more perfect in comparison with the known sensors, as it provides a simplified design, reducing weight and dimensions and increasing sensitivity. This is achieved as a result of the fact that the inertia mass of the sensor is used at the same time as the air damper.
The drawing shows a diagram of the proposed sensor.
In housing 1, an air damper 4 with a damping degree regulator 5 is mounted on ball bearings 2 and 3. The damper piston 6 is connected by a rod 7 to a plate spring 8, which is mounted on racks 9 connected to the housing. When the sensor is operating, the cylinder of the damper is driven into rotation by an electric motor. When acting on the piston of the acceleration damper, it begins to move along the axis of sensitivity and through the rod 7 acts on the plate spring b. Deflection spring; proportional; current vcorenii. Rotating the damper cylinder reduces the friction between the piston and the cylinder to the desired value, depending on the number of revolutions of the engine. Damping is performed by exhausting air from the damper. Thus, in the proposed sensor piston
воздушного демпфера используетс з качестве инерционной массы, что позвол ет примегшть воздушный демпфер в датчиках с чувствительностью пор дка Ю -10 g, а также совместить два самосто тельных узла обычного датчика ускорений в одном.the air damper is used for its inertial mass, which allows it to be used in sensors with a sensitivity of from 10 to 10 g, and also to combine two independent units of a conventional acceleration sensor in one.
