Description

For measurement of weak magnetic fields (e.g., the earth's field), sod-resonance magnetometers are used.

The proposed magnetometer is more advanced compared to the known magnetometers, since it allows to increase the measurement accuracy. This is achieved in that it uses a capacitor connected to the winding of the sensor of the magnetometer and charged from the battery of the latter.

The drawing shows an electrical circuit of the proposed magnetometer.

The magnetometer sensor is a vessel 1 with a hydrogen-containing liquid, placed inside the solenoid 2. It is connected via switch 3 to battery 4 and then, after a few seconds, switches to its original position. The device uses the spin echo phenomenon, which increases the duration of the useful signal and, consequently, the measurement accuracy. The spin echo is created by means of an oscillating discharge of a capacitor 5 connected via switch 6 to the winding of the magnetometer sensor. The capacitor 5 is charged from the battery 4, and the required intensity of the pulse required to obtain a spin echo is set using a potentiometer 7. After the pulse created by the capacitor 5 is attenuated, the sensor is connected to the amplifier 9 using the switch 8. based, for example, on the principle of counting.
