Description
1 ii. 1 ii. The invention relates to radio engineering and can be used to divide power in a wide frequency band. The aim of the invention is to increase the directivity. The drawing shows a directional coupler, a cross-section. A directional coupler contains a dielectric substrate 1 on one surface of which two current-carrying conductors 2 are arranged parallel, and on the other two grounded conductors 3 between which there is a screen-conductor 4 located symmetrically relative to the current-carrying conductors 2. Between the current-carrying conductors 2 there are two additional conductor 5 connected by a conductor jumper b to one another. - Two metallization areas 7 are additionally made, which are placed on opposite sides of the current-carrying conductors 2, connected to the additional conductors 5 by the wire of the lash by jumpers 8 and connected galvanically to the grounded conductors 3. 32 The directional coupler works as follows. The side connection between the current carrying conductors 2 is reduced as a result of the shielding effect of the additional conductors 5, having the potential of grounded conductors 3. In this case, the capacitance value between the current carrying conductors 2 and the grounded conductors 3 increases, and between the current carrying conductors 2 and the shield conductor 4 decreases. Thus, in the proposed directional coupler, there is practically no side connection between the current carrying conductors, the communication takes place only through the shielding conductor and the propagating waves have the same phase velocities, which increases the directivity. The overlapping of the metallization regions by the shielding conductor and the reduction of the capacitance between the current carrying conductors and the shielding conductor allow the directional coupler to be weakly coupled.
