Description
I - 1 The invention relates to zeolite adsorbents for extracting carbon from carbon monoxide and can be used in the practice of sanitary and hygienic laboratories that monitor the CO content in atmospheric air, as well as in indoor air and industrial facilities. The purpose of the invention is to increase the adsorption capacity of the sorbent. The sorbent is made and used as follows. PRI me R. Copper containing pre-sprayed tablets of type Y zeolite with a degree of sodium substitution with copper cations 10% are heated for 3 hours, crushed and sieved. The fraction of granules with a size of 0.250.5 mm is activated for 2-3 hours when heated to 250-300 0 in a stream of carrier gas (helium, nitrogen) supplied at a speed of 50 cm / min. Then, the activated pellets (3-5 g) are transferred to a special trap, through which 30 liters of atmospheric air are passed at a linear velocity of 5-10 cm / s at room temperature and atmospheric pressure. Thereafter, the effect of temperature and the degree of exchange of sodium ions with copper on the absolute retention volumes for CO 32 is heated up to 250-260 ° C and concentrated carbon monoxide is eluted. The complete absorption of CO is verified by gas chromatography by successively combining two traps, with no trace of carbon monoxide being detected in the second gas trap. The complete desorption of CO from the column is also checked by installing a second trap with a copper-containing zeolite at the gas outlet, in which the carbon monoxide is recaptured, and then analyzed. The identity of the areas of chromatographic peaks serves as proof of the completeness of CO desorption. Data on the adsorption ability of CuNaY zeolite with respect to carbon monoxide are shown in the table. This sorbent does not lose its selective absorption properties even with thermal activation at temperatures above 300 ° C. The sorbent can be reused for analytical purposes. The sample can be analyzed immediately or after several days.
