The devices known for this purpose do not allow the sorting of plates in an accelerated way.

In the described device, this drawback is eliminated by using automatic machines fixed on the conveyor, each of which consists of a fixed-grip housing and a rotation axis equipped with sorting and sliding arms with rollers at the ends, a rotating gripper and a longitudinal copier used to contact the rollers.

Each machine consists of a body / with a fixed grip 2, a movable rotary grip 3 fixing the sizes of objects, and a movable grip has two lower levers - sorting 4 and spring-loaded sliding 5 on a common axis 6. Both these levers have rollers at their ends, in contact with a longitudinal copier 7, consisting of a series of parallel steps, each of which is raised against the previous one by an amount corresponding to the difference between the adjacent sizes of the plates to be sorted.

The machines are mounted on an endless conveyor 8, driven by an electric motor through a gear system. The plates are placed in shop 9 with table W. The sorting of the plates on the described machine is performed as follows.

When the machines move, each of them approaches the location of the store with the plates, at this moment the roller of the sorting lever rests on the longitudinal copier in the highest position, as a result of which the rotating grip is retracted from the fixed grip at number 114482-2 -

The sorting lever due to the clamping of the plank in the grippers remains at a height corresponding to the size of the removed plank. The machine that grasps the plate moves in that position until the sorting roller rolls to the copier level corresponding to it; this size, clamped in the grip machine plates. As soon as the roller touches this level of the copier, the moving grip moves away from the fixed one and releases the clamped plate, which immediately falls into the space reserved for this size. Further advancement of the machine goes to the next approach to the store, where another plate of a different size is re-captured and is taken to the designated place.
