This invention relates to chemical technology and can be used in the production of weak nitric acid. According to the main author. St. No. 982777 is an ammonia converter, which contains a vertical cylindrical body inside which a platinum-like catalyst grid is placed, a tubular heat exchanger with gas inlet and outlet gas chambers, to which heat exchanger tubes are connected to tube plates, and pipes for inlet and outlet of tail nitrous gases, are located below the grid; and the outlet gas chambers are installed vertically and are provided with an additional bundle of pipes connecting them to each other, with the supply and discharge connections The backbone gases are located respectively on the inlet and outlet chambers 1. The disadvantage of this device is low reliability. The reliability of the device is reduced due to the formation of stagnant zones in the lower ends of the chambers. In addition, the device is characterized by the impossibility of carrying out repairs when the heat exchanger pipes leave the building without complete dismantling of the heat exchanger. The purpose of the invention is to increase the reliability of the apparatus. The goal is achieved by the ammonia converter containing a vertical cylindrical body inside which there is a platinum catalyst grid, a tubular heat exchanger located under the grid with inlet and outlet gas chambers, to which the heat exchanger pipes are connected, and pipes for supplying and discharging nitrous tail gases The inlet and outlet gas chambers are installed vertically and are provided with an additional bundle of pipes connecting them to each other, while Kills for the supply and removal of tail gases. placed respectively on the inlet and outlet chambers, opposite the tube plates, provided with L-shaped partitions installed in the lower parts of the gas chambers, the horizontal section of which is fixed on the tube plate above at least the lower row of heat exchange tubes, and the vertical portion is located at a distance from the lower the end of the gas chambers, and the nozzles for the supply and removal of tail gas are located respectively opposite the tube sheets of the heat exchanger. FIG. 1 shows the ammonia converter, a longitudinal section; in fig. 2 shows section A-A in FIG. one; in fig. 3 shows a section BB in FIG. 2. The ammonia converter contains a vertical cylindrical body 1 with nozzles 2 and 3 for supplying an ammonia-air mixture and withdrawing converted gas and a flange connector 4. Inside the body 1 is placed on support elements 5 a platinum catalyst mesh b, under which is placed a tubular heat exchanger 7 with an inlet and the output gas chambers 8 and 9, to the tube plates 10 and 11 of which are connected the pipes 12 of the heat exchanger 7. The inlet and outlet gas chambers 8 and 9 are equipped respectively with nozzles 13 and 14 for the supply and removal of tail gases. The upper ends of the gas chambers 8 and 9 are interconnected by an additional bundle of pipes 15, on the horizontal section 16 of which the support elements 5 are installed. The walls of the housing 1 are internally closed with refractory material 17. Additional L-shaped partitions 18 and 19 are placed in the gas chambers 8 and 9. The horizontal section of the partitions 18 and 19 is attached, respectively, to the tube plates 10 and 11 above at least the bottom row of heat exchange pipes 12, and the vertical section forms gaps 20 and 21 with the bottom end of the gas chambers 8 and 9. The vertical section is town 18 and 19 respectively form channels for the gas passage 22-25. Nozzles 13 and 14 are placed in gas chambers 8 and 9 against the junction points of heat exchange tubes 12, which can be located on tube plates inside a conventional circle (indicated by a dotted line), the diameter of which D does not exceed the diameter of the nozzles 13 and 14, and the centers of the conventional circle and nozzles 13 and 14 are on the same axis. The ammonia converter works as follows. Ammonia-air mixture under pressure of 6-8 kgf / cm through pipe 2 enters housing 1 and passes through a platinum catalyst grid 6, where at 850-950 ° C ammonia is converted according to the following reactions: 4ННз 50г - 4NO -6HjO + 216 , 7 kcal 4NHji-40i - 2NiO 6HjO + 263.9 kcal A converged nitrous gas with a temperature of 850–950 ° C successively passes and washes an additional bundle of pipes 15 and pipes 12 of heat exchanger 7, where nitrogen oxides are fixed due to the sudden cooling of the gas. The gas, cooled to 460-500 ° C, is diverted through nozzle 3 to a further technology. Tail nitrous gases from the absorption column with a pressure of 6.5-7.5 kgf / cm and at 130-150 ° C through the nozzle 13 are introduced into the inlet chamber 8. Part of the gas through the upper end of the chamber 8 through the tube bundle 15 enters the upper end output chamber 9, thereby eliminating the zone of stagnation in the upper ends and providing a constant flow of cold gases, which prevents overheating of chambers 8 and 9 in these places and, moreover, protects the upper rows of pipes 12 from the radiation of the catalyst grid. Another part of the gas from chamber 8 is directed to pipes 12, heated to 500-600 ° C and goes to chamber 9, from where it is diverted to gas turbine through pipe 14. At the same time, a greater flow of gas from chamber 8 directly enters the pipes 12, and the smaller - before entering pipes 12 passes through channel 22, gap 20 and channel 23, and after leaving pipes 12 passes through channel 25, gap 21 and channel 24. Thus, stagnant zones in the lower ends of the chambers 8 and 9 are eliminated, which prevents overheating of the metal in these places, thereby providing increased reliability. The placement of the pipes 13 and 14 for the supply and removal of tail gases opposite the connection points of the pipes 12 to the tube plates 10 and 11 also increases reliability due to the improved entry of gas into the pipes 12 and its outflow from them. In addition, this placement allows repair of the heat exchanger 7, piping the pipes 12 to the tube plates 10 and 11 (or disconnecting a part of the tubes 12) without dismantling the heat exchanger 7. Access to the junction points of the tubes 12 with the tube plates 10 and 11 is provided through pipes 13 and 14. The location of the joints of the pipes 12 on the tube plates 10 and 11 inside the conditional circle, the diameter of which does not exceed the diameter of the pipes 13 and 14, also leads to an increase in maintainability, as with any sizes between the walls of the chambers 8 and 9, access to the places with pipes 12 with tube plates 10 and 11. In comparison with the base object, which was adopted as the UKL-71 ammonia converter installed at Serkasky’s Nitrogen software, the proposed device ensures a reduction in downtime for repairs by 20-22% and, moreover, , an increase in the temperature of tail gas heating from 450 to 500–600 ° C, which reduces the consumption of natural gas by 30%. The technical and economic effect of using the proposed device on a single production line for the production of weak nitric acid by reducing downtime for repairs and increasing service life is approximately 20 thousand rubles. in year.
