00 The invention relates to the technology of electrical engineering; eleven; trohig-1 production plants and in particular to the method of producing electrodes for the electrolysis of water. IzEven wall-1 method of preparing an electrode for electrolysis of water, including applying a mixture of nickel and aluminum to the base surface of the electrode, its thermal diffusion treatment using a bbO-lOOOC, followed by leaching 11. This method is characterized by the difficulty of achieving a predetermined and uniform ratio of the components of the mixture. Closest to the invention is a method of making an electrode for the electrolysis of water, including aluminizing the nickel base by annealing it in a bed containing a mixture of aluminum and aluminum oxide powders, followed by leaching the aluminum. Annealing is carried out at VOO-VSOC in a non-oxidizing atmosphere 2. The disadvantages of this method are the difficulty in achieving the optimum phase composition and thickness of the coating, which does not allow for high electrode activity and adhesion strength of the coating to the electrode base, increased consumption of components backfilling and the difficulty of re-using the main backfill component, namely, alumina. The purpose of the invention is to increase the electrode activity and reduce the cost of its manufacture. This goal is achieved by the fact that according to the method of manufacturing an electrolytic electrode for electrolysis, including aluminizing a nickel base by annealing it in a charge containing a mixture of aluminum powders and aluminum oxide, and then, after annealing the leaching of aluminum, before annealing the substrate is treated by immersion in a suspension consisting of from 10–20% by weight of a mixture of aluminum and alcmini fluoride powders at a ratio of the latter (9–19): in a 58% solution of rubber in benzine, followed by drying, and repeating these operations until a layer is formed on the basis of sediment with a thickness of 0.5–1.5 mm, and backfilling additionally contains aluminum fluoride in the following ratio, wt.% Aluminum 2–4 aluminum fluoride 0.7–1.0 Alumina Rest When the content of the solid phase in the suspension decreases below 10% its viscosity decreases, which leads to its swelling from the electrode surface and makes it difficult to obtain a sediment layer of the required thickness of even 0.5 m. Moreover, when the sediment layer dries out, its distortion, rupture, and increased gas permeability are observed. This leads to a decrease in the amount of applied aluminum and, accordingly, to a decrease in the activity of the electrodes. An increase in the solids content in the suspension above 20% will lead to an increase in its viscosity, deterioration of adhesion to the base of the electrode, which leads to a crumbling of the dry substance during the drying process and, accordingly, to a decrease in the electrochemical activity of the electrodes. When the aluminum content in the solid phase of the suspension is less than 9 hours, a sharp drop in the activity of the electrodes is observed due to a decrease in the thickness of the active layer, and an increase in the aluminum content over 19 hours leads to the precipitation of the resulting active layer, and the electrochemical activity does not improve. Reducing the rubber content in rubber glue below 5% leads to instability of the suspension. It makes it difficult to apply the suspension to the electrode, increasing its content above 8% leads to a sharp increase in the amount of carbon residue in the sludge layer during heat treatment, which shields part of the electrode surface that prevents penetration in it is aluminum, which leads to a decrease in the electrochemical activity of the electrodes after leaching. When the thickness of the sediment layer is less than 0 mm, the thickness of the active layer being formed is 15 microns, does not provide the required activity of the electrodes, and the thickness of the active layer exceeds 5 microns. This causes it to fall. A decrease in the amount of aluminum in the bed of less than 2% leads to a sharp decrease in the protective capacity of the bed against oxidation of the electrode surface during the heat treatment of air with oxygen. An increase in the aluminum content in the bed above 4% leads to a change in the phase composition and thickness of the activated electrode layer, which leads to its shedding during the leaching process. The decrease in the number of halogen-containing activator in the backfill below 0.7% leads to a decrease in protective PROPERTIES and attenuation of the transfer of eshyumini from the sediment layer to the electrode surface. This reduces its electrochemical activity. An increase in the number of activators above 1% leads to the entrainment of aluminum from the coating in backfill and, accordingly, to a decrease in the electrochemical electrode properties.
