Описываемый способ отличаетс  от известных тем, что к термически обрабатываемому маслу добавл ют в качестве катализатора полистирол в количестве 0,2-1,5% , упроща  этим технологический процесс полимеризации. Введепие полистирола в масло может проводитьс  как в начале процесса, так и после некоторой предварительной полимеризации масла.
