Description
The invention relates to the durability of parts and can be used when braking the development and stopping of a growing crack in the bearing elements of structural material. There is a known method of inhibiting the growth of fatigue treI1in, in which, on the path of the development of cracks, the creation of a relative compression stress fl. The field of application of this method is limited to parts on the surface of which various types of pads can be fixed, which reduces the technical possibilities of the method. The purpose of the invention is to increase the technological capabilities. The goal is achieved by the fact that, according to the method of inhibiting the growth of fatigue cracks, residual compressive stresses are created, areas with a successive varying degree of compression are created in the zone of residual stresses, and the section with a higher degree of compression is curved and placed along the contour of the zone in the path of crack development, and the area with a lower degree of compression in the zone of formation of the crack. The drawing shows the zone of residual compressive stresses. On the detail 1, near the crack 2, by roller rolling (, not shown on the Drawing), a zone of residual compressive stresses is applied in which areas with a successive varying degree of compression are created from b, to (a) The areas are located symmetrically to the place of crack initiation, while with a greater degree of compression (7d is made curved and placed along the contour of the zone in the path of crack development 2, and areas with a lower degree of compression d Yjj are placed in the zone of formation of cracks. After the start of destruction of the part from the stress concentrator, the crack 2 spreads, reaches section 3 with the highest degree of residual compressive stresses 4 begins to spread in the direction of less stressful areas g, it takes a curvilinear shape, its development is suspended. The proposed method of inhibiting the growth of fatigue cracks compared to the known can be applied and with increasing durability of parts on the surface of which it is impossible to mount the lining, which increases the technical capabilities of the method.
