Abstract

The dispenser comprises a comparatively horizontal carrier plate (2), below which a roll of coherent gusset bags is provided and of the type which has lateral handles. Guide rollers guide the foremost bag to an elongate, preferably arched aperture (9) in the carrier plate (2). Above the carrier plate (2), a particularly profiled plate (7) is provided, which on top carries two holders (10, 11) for suspension of a plastic bag in a position for use on the carrier plate (2). When a bag is pulled through the aperture (9), the handles of the next bag reach this aperture, where they are ready for pulling up the next bag. Each individual plastic bag is designed such that after having been pulled out of the dispenser, it unfolds completely at the bottom which acquires the same shape as the bottom of a cardboard box or paper carrier bag.

Description

Technical field

The invention relates to a plastic bag feeder of the type comprising a box for holding a roll that can be freely rotated in a horizontal position in the box, said roll comprising a strip of continuous, finished wedge bags of flexible plastic material, each bag being provided with two side handles. located on each side of the center cut-out in the bag, the bags being joined by a separating line between the bottom of one bag and the handles of said bag, and the dispenser being designed with an outlet opening for each bag being withdrawn from the dispenser, said outlet opening for the bags being an elongated opening extending substantially in the axial direction of the roll, as well as with brackets adapted to allow the two handles of the bag to be suspended, and means for controlling the movement of the bag are provided.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

A feeder of this type is known from French patent no. No. 2,558,704, which discloses an apparatus for conveying bags of flexible material which are fed down by a motorized drive and are peeled off the roll. Under the outlet opening, the device has a plurality of brackets that the customer can use to hang a plastic bag that the device delivers open through the blown air.

The disadvantage of such a device can be seen in the fact that it requires a large space, both above and beyond the supply window, and that at least some of said holders are present on the outlet side of the device.

Another arrangement for administering plastic bags one after the other is known from patent application DK 1620/88 corresponding to EP-A-286 498 and US-A-4 793 539. FIG. 1 of this document also shows coiled webs of continuous plastic bags of the side-handle type.

This known arrangement, where two coils of continuous plastic bags are arranged under the window at the cash register, has two bag outlets, each with a toothed hole through which the bag is removed and torn away from the next bag. The disadvantage of this solution is that the bag that the customer pulls out is bent, which forces the customer to straighten it before opening.

For example, at the exit of a supermarket there is normally at least one cash register, said cash register comprising a treadmill on which the customer unloads his goods, a cash register itself with a price reading device and an exit belt or slip or simply a window as in the above.

Shopping bags (possibly after payment) are often served by the operator, after which the customer himself has to take care of opening the bag and filling it with goods.

These various operations can be lengthy for both the operator and the customer.

EP-A2-0381 914 discloses an automatic plastic bag feeder arranged at the exit end of a window, which is provided with a complex mechanism with means for pneumatic opening of the first plastic bag in a rolled-up plastic bag strip of the type described above and rods which are first inserted into the bag handles; then they move to separate the bag from the next bag and open these bag handles and keep the bag open, ready for use at the end of the window.

The disadvantage of this known system is that the mechanism required is quite complex, which of course causes a relatively high unit price, making the system likely more suitable for larger stores than smaller stores, for example with only one, two or possibly three cash registers.

SE-B 351 559 discloses a plastic bag dispenser in which the plastic bags in the belt are joined at the longitudinal side edge and are provided at the top with elongate openings which the customer can use to carry the bag. The first bag is pulled out manually from the bag belt and placed vertically in the box-shaped exit area, after which the two bag handles are folded over the two lugs on top of the box so that the bag is held vertically and open in the box.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

According to the present invention, the plastic bag feeder differs from the type mentioned at the outset in that the upper side of the box is formed by a substantially horizontal carrier plate with a front edge and a rear edge and an outlet opening is formed in the upper side of the box. underneath the carrier plate in such a way that the front handles of the individual bags appear through the opening at its ends and above each end of the carrier plate opening are holders.

This type of plastic bag feeder offers a number of advantages.

As will be seen in detail from the detailed description, the box with the bag roll arranged therein can form an independent unit which can be constructed as replaceable so that the staff, when consuming the bag roll, can quickly replace the box with a new bag roll box.

The bags are pulled one by one by their handles through the opening and can immediately be arranged above the carrier plate. The controlled movement of the pull-out bag has the effect that the bag does not warp and as a result is easier to put into use.

According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the plastic bag feeder may be characterized in that the elongated opening is profiled in such a manner that it curves inwardly towards the front edge of the carrier plate and has a central, substantially circular, arcuate lobe pointing towards the rear edge of the carrier plate. and that the actuating means below the carrier plate are formed by at least one roller that is parallel to the axis of the tile roll and the carrier plate, said roller being offset in the direction of the leading edge of the carrier plate relative to the longitudinal axis of the opening. In this embodiment, the bag that can be pulled through the aperture in the carrier plate is controlled by the roller to prevent the bag from wrinkling, and because the guide roller is positioned closer to the front edge of the carrier plate than the aperture itself, the lob engages with the bag. through the central opening of the next bag, thereby separating the bag to be pulled out from the next bag under constant tension. At the same time, the special profile of the opening in the carrier plate has the effect that the lateral edges of the bag are distributed evenly to the ends of the opening in the carrier plate. According to a further preferred embodiment, the plastic bag feeder can be characterized in that the actuating means are a plurality of counter-rotating rollers, preferably coated with frictional material and pairs in contact with each other by their forming lines, said rollers being mounted freely rotatable in two bearings. end arms under the carrier plate.

The counter-rotating rollers provide even more precise control of bag movement. As a result of these rollers and the frictional effect obtained by their friction material, it appears that the bag can be pulled evenly out of the feeder even by pulling only one handle of the bag.

In addition to the aforementioned, lengthy operations (the counter operator handles shopping bags manually, or the customer takes the shopping bag from a tray near the cash register), the customer also annoys that the shopping bag normally has to be kept open with one hand and goods, especially groceries wrapped in a thin plastic film, they do not slip easily into the shopping bag.

By folding each of the bag handles over the holder, the customer can now more easily use both hands to load the bag with the goods as the bag is held open.

According to a further embodiment of the present invention, the plastic bag feeder may be characterized in that a profiled plate is formed above the carrier plate, one portion of which extends to the front edge of the carrier plate, and that said holders are attached to the top of the plate and positioned above the carrier plate surface. between its opening and its front edge.

An advantage of such a profiled plate that carries the holders is that the customer pulling the bag is forced to do it upwards and towards itself, which makes the separation of the bag from the next bag easy and even.

The holders are preferably located substantially above the respective ends of the opening in the carrier plate.

However, it may be difficult for the customer to release the handles of a full, heavy shopping bag from such bag hanging means.

Accordingly, a preferred embodiment of the bag feeder of the present invention may be characterized in that each bracket is formed by a support arm attachable to the board and two branches, articulated to each other and connected to an end of the support arm facing away from the board, said branches they form an annular holder and that spring means are provided at the end of the support arm and at the corresponding end of at least one of the two branches, which try to connect the two branches but which allow both branches to open a free passage for the hand and the respective handles to lift the bag from the carrier plate.

In this embodiment, the customer no longer has to try to release the handles of the full, heavy shopping bag from the holder. The customer just has to put his hand or hands in the handles and pick up the bag. According to a further embodiment of the present invention, the plastic bag feeder may be characterized in that the box has means for detachably hanging the box on a vertical wall, and that each bracket consists of two hinged branches forming an annular bracket with one branch fixedly mounted on the wall; wherein the second leg is biased by spring means to deflect in the direction of said one leg to close the annular holder.

Preferably, the largest cross-sectional dimension of the holder from the outer side of one branch to the opposite outer side of the other branch may be larger than the largest dimension of the opening in the bag handle.

The invention also relates to a plastic bag for use in a plastic bag feeder according to the invention. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

The three rollers 20, 21, 22 are preferably coated with a layer of friction material, for example rubber.

Two springs 23 and 24 between the stops 25 and 26 on the arms and shafts of the respective rollers 21 and 22 force the rollers 21 and 22 to abut the roll 20, but are flexible enough to introduce the first bag from the roll 6 of the bags between the two rollers 21 and 22. in the manner shown in FIG. 2, to allow the rollers 21 and 22 to be slightly pushed away from the roller 20. The opening 9 in the embodiment shown in FIG. 1 and 3, is substantially beak-shaped, i. like a broad ax blade. One opening edge 30 may have a circular profile, while the opposite opening edge has a profile consisting of three arcuate portions, i.e. two outer portions 31 and 32 and a central arcuate portion 33. The central portion 33 forms a lobe directed towards the edge 30 hole.

It should be noted that the profiled plate 7 shown in FIG. 1, whose part 7a is placed horizontally on top of the carrier plate 2, is also provided with the same kind of opening.

Referring again to FIG. 1, and in particular FIG. 2. The two holders 10 and 11 are supported by respective support arms 12 and 13, which are fixedly mounted on the plate 7 at its upper edge and at a suitable distance above the support plate 2.

In this position, the rollers 20, 21, 22 will be in pairs (20, 22, 21, 22) in contact with each other along their forming lines and thus will be in drive engagement with the bag. For the sake of clarity, the interspace between cylinder 20 and cylinder 22, cylinder 21 and cylinder 22 is shown somewhat larger than normal. In fact, as mentioned above, these rollers will be in contact with each other.

Such a box 60 may be provided with means (not shown) for hanging the box on the wall, preferably below the two respective bag holders.

For holders, it should be noted that their largest cross-sectional dimension from the outer side of one branch to the opposite outer side of the other branch should be greater than the largest dimension of the opening in the bag handle. This prevents the handles from moving further down to the carrier arms 12 and 13 of the bag holders.

If the feeder has an embodiment in which a briefcase box is used, the bag holders may preferably be formed such that one branch thereof is rigidly connected to the wall carrying the box, while only the other branch facing away from the wall is articulated and is articulated. prestressed towards a fixed branch.

We now explain in detail the function of the bag feeder described herein.

It is assumed that the bag feeder is located at the cash register in a supermarket or similar store.

The special shape of the profiled plate 7 (see Fig. 2) forces the customer to pull the bag (by one or both handles) at an angle upward in the direction indicated by the arrow P, i. away from the device.

During this movement, the lobes 33 penetrate into the cutout 42 of the next bag, said bag being stopped while the bag being pulled is separated from the handles of the next bag, which in the meantime is already inserted between the rollers 20, 21, 22 and ready to be pulled out of the opening 9.

The special shape of the feeder opening 9 with respect to the straight rollers 20, 21, 22 and the advantageous positioning of said rollers relative to the feeder opening 9 will cause the bags to be distributed evenly over the length of the feeder opening and the bag handles will automatically arrange themselves at the ends of the opening. even when it actually pulls only one bag handle.

If the bag is empty, it is very easy for the customer to fold the handles 43, 44 of the bag over the holders 10, 11. 5c.

However, once the bag has been filled, it may be difficult to remove the handles 43, 44 of the bag to release the holders 10 and 11.

Therefore, according to the invention it is advantageous to provide holders

The customer does not have to try to fold the handles back, he just needs to put his hands under the handles of the bag (Fig. 5d) and lift the bag. Thereafter, the hands of the user freely pass between the two branches 14, 15, forcing them to open, and then due to the spring means of the holder to return to their normal position (closed branches 14, 15).

As mentioned previously, the box comprising the carrier plate 2, the arms 3, 4, the rollers 20, 21, 22 and the rest of the mechanism, including the bag roll shaft, can be designed as a unit replaceable in the bag feeder housing 1. This allows personnel to have a stock of one or more filled crabs ready so that when the bag roll is consumed, a new box with a new bag roll can quickly be placed in the feeder.

It should be noted that the specially profiled plate 7 does not necessarily have an S-shape, as shown in FIG. 1 and 2, on which the lower part 7a of the plate 7 covers the upper side of the support plate 2. It should further be noted that two or more pairs of counter-rotating rollers may be used instead of straight guide rollers, said rollers being arranged approximately in accordance with the profile of the opening 9.

Furthermore, it should be noted that the bag feeder could be equipped in a manner known per se with a photocell device for detecting the position of the opening of the next bag relative to the opening 9 in the carrier plate 2 and for possible electrical braking of at least one of the guide rollers 20, 21. 22 and / or to send a signal to the cashier indicating that the bag has been pulled out, in which case the payment for that bag needs to be collected.

Fig. 8 illustrates yet another embodiment of the bag feeder of the present invention.

The feeder 60 itself is in the embodiment described with reference to FIG. 6 and 7, located below a box 70 consisting of a back plate 71 and two side plates 72 and 73 which are perpendicular or substantially perpendicular to the back plate. Here, the rear plate 71 and the side plates 72, 73 extend down to the upper edge of the case 60, but may also, in a modified embodiment, extend, for example, to the floor along opposite sides of the case so that the case is placed in the box 70.

On the top of the side plate 72 is formed a holder 74 for hanging one bag handle 43. At the top of the opposite side plate 73 is formed a corresponding holder 75 for hanging the second bag handle 44.

The holder 74 is substantially in the form of a vertical spoon or shell, which, when viewed in the direction of the arrow A, is hollow. This hollow shape allows the consumer to move up one hand in the hollow space and behind the hinged bag handle and release the bag handle from the holder 74 by continuing upward movement. The opposite holder 75 is constructed in the same way but facing the holder 74, i. looking in the direction of arrow B.

The two spoon-shaped holders 74 and 75 may be arranged integral with the at least one side plate 72 and 73, for example by casting from an impact-resistant material. However, the two holders may also be constructed as separate parts of suitable material and mounted firmly on top of the respective side plates.

Fig. 9 shows yet another embodiment of the box 70.
