The technical solution relates to a meter housing secured against unauthorized opening and access to the interior with indication of possible unauthorized opening.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Current meters have a functional part covered by a box consisting of a top and a bottom plastic cover. These are usually connected to each other in the upper part of the meter housing mostly by two plastic locks of both housings that are part of them. On the opposite lower part of the meter housing, the upper and lower casings are generally connected by two sealing screws, which through the through hole secure the upper casing to the lower casing by means of a nut with an internal, generally metric thread, pressed into the lower casing molding. The two connected covers are then sealed with a seal and a sealing wire through the hole in the head of the sealing screw and the hole in the molding of the top cover. The meter can be opened by removing the seal with the sealing wire and unscrewing the sealing screws.

However, the meter thus secured can be opened and closed again illegally and without apparent damage and the mask can be disguised by installing a false seal.

The essence of the technical solution

The aforementioned lack of current meter housings can be remedied by the meter housing according to this technical solution. It also consists of a lower and an upper cover which are adjacent to each other. The molded cover is provided with at least one, preferably circular, recess. The upper surface of the spout, located at the bottom of the lower cover and perpendicular thereto, is adjacent to it. The recess and the boss are provided with coaxial openings with a circular cross-section, the boss is an impassable bore, in which a metal knurled pin with a flat head in the recess is fixed. The bore in the recess has a diameter with the necessary tolerance greater than the diameter of the pin shank and the bore in the boss has a diameter with the necessary tolerance less than the diameter of the shank of the pin. A break-out groove is formed in the vicinity of the recess. The pin head may be circumferentially overlaid with a fixation bead from a fixation boss on the top surface of the top cover in the immediate vicinity of the recess.

According to the present invention, the two covers cannot be separated from each other without the broken out part of the top cover molding defined by the break-out grooves or the fixing edge damaged. The physically obviously damaged meter housing immediately signals that it has been opened illegally. Compared to other ways of protecting the electricity meter, this solution is quite sufficient and at the same time significantly cheaper.
