Abstract

Is described a barrier trap (1) of bark and wood-destroying insects, which is lured by pheromone evaporators for contamination insects by entomopathogen. A subject matter of this technical solution is that the barrier trap (1) has a partially closed additive container (2) mounted on a funnel (11). In the bottom of the additive container (2) is an opening with a net (22), wherein rain water flows out through the said opening. The additive container (2) is equipped with opening (21) on sides for insects free return into the environment, and on a level of the opening (21) removable false bottom (23) with entomopathogen spores carrier. A filling is located above the food container (2) bottom not to come into contact with moisture and caught insects fell from the funnel (11) on its surface. In moving towards the filling surface in direction of the opening gets to contact the pest with pathogen and infection. An expedient realization is, if the barrier trap (1) according to the technical solution is a system component containing at least one expedient two lured barrier traps for trapping bark and wood-destroying insects, which together form the set of TRIO (ECOTRAP TRIO).

Description

Technické riešenie sa týka bariérového lapača podkômeho a drevokazného hmyzu, navnadeného feromónovým odpamikom, v úprave umožňujúcej infikovanie odchyteného hmyzu entomopatogénom. The technical solution relates to a barrier trap of underwater and wood decaying insects, enticed by pheromone tails, in a treatment allowing the entomopathogen to infect captured insects.

Doterajší stav technikyBACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Jedným z komerčne využívaných lapačov je výrobok ECOTRAP.Subsoils and wood-destroying insects of the family Scolytidae are a serious harmful agent of forest stands, especially due to the current tendency to calamitous overgrowth. One method of combating these pests is to use species-specific pheromones and traps to capture them. One of the commercially used traps is the ECOTRAP product.

Entomopathogenic microorganisms cause diseases of various types of insects, which lead to its death. This is also used commercially in ecologically acceptable plant protection against harmful insects. Commercial preparations of entomopathogens are formulated into a dosage form allowing their practical use. As an effective organism they use entomopathogenic fungi e.g. Beauveria sp., Metarhizium sp., Paecilomyces sp. These entomopathogenic fungi are not species-specific and are virulent to Scolytidae.

Attempts have been made to use fungi to reduce the population of subterranean and wood decaying insects in forest protection.

Part of the experiments was based on the general application of entomopathogen by spraying on lying traps, stand walls, and aerial application was also tested. This method carries serious risks to non-target and useful entomofauna. They are not sufficiently effective in terms of their target life cycle with respect to their life cycle.

As a starting point, a method was tested in which, using a specific pheromone, the target pest was attracted to the trap, where it was infected and subsequently released into the environment.

The greatest problem is to provide a suitable environment for the pathogen spores in which they are sufficiently persistent, partially protected from environmental influences, and in which sufficient infectious pressure is ensured, i. j. contact with target insects.

Podstata technického riešeniaThe essence of the technical solution

Riešením problémov zhrnutých vyššie sa zaoberá bariérový lapač podkômeho a drevokazného hmyzu, navnadený feromónovým odpamikom, v úprave umožňujúcej infikovanie hmyzu entomopatogénom. The solution of the problems summarized above is dealt with by a barrier trap of subterranean and wood decaying insects, enticed by a pheromone tail, in a treatment allowing the insect to be infected with entomopathogen. The essence of this technical solution is that instead of the original trap the barrier trap has a partially closed additional container attached to the funnel. At the bottom of this additional container there is an opening with a mesh through which any rainwater flows. The auxiliary vessel is provided on the side walls with openings for free return of the insects to the environment and at the same time at the level of the openings, with a replaceable false bottom with a spore carrier entomopathogen.

The liner is placed above the bottom of the add-on container to prevent contact with moisture and to prevent trapped insects from falling onto the funnel. Moving the surface of the liner toward the opening causes the pest to contact the pathogen and the infection.

Výhodným riešením je, ak je bariérový lapač podľa technického riešenia súčasťou sústavy, ktorá ďalej obsahuje najmenej jeden výhodne dva navnadené bariérové lapače v úprave na klasický odchyt podkômeho a drevokazného hmyzu, ktoré takto spolu tvoria zostavu TRIO (ECOTRAP TRIO).A preferred solution is if the barrier trap according to the invention is part of a system which further comprises at least one preferably two baited barrier trap adapted for the classical capture of subterranean and wood decaying insects, which together form the TRIO assembly (ECOTRAP TRIO).
