Abstract

The invention belongs to the field of printing processes, more precisely to the process of printing images on a rocky surface. The essence of the process for printing a color image on a stone slab of any shape is that from a large part of the stone, preferably granite or marble, a plate of the selected shape is cut, which is first finely machined by the edges and the front surface, which is somewhat roughly erased. After grinding, the protective film on the edge of the tile is glued to the edge. The prepared plate is inserted into an UV printer, which has already loaded a picture to be printed. When the UV printer prints an image, the protective film is removed and the plate is ready for installation on the tombstone.

Procedure for printing a color image on a stone slab

Field of technique

The invention belongs to the field of printing processes, more precisely to the process of printing images on a rocky surface.

Technical problem

The technical problem is how to print a color picture directly on the stone tile, which must be stable despite the various weather conditions created by the sun, frost, rain, snow, ice, smog and similar weather events. The object of the invention is to produce a color image on a stone plate for mounting on a tombstone.

A known state of the art

The methods of engraving an image on stone are known, in particular, on a granite or marble plate or plate, which may only be grayed out. Also known is the process of producing an image on a rock substrate with a laser, which makes various thick depth lines and point dots that make the whole, which lasers the image. The painting on the stone can also be made by scraping with a suitable tool. In poor weather conditions, such images are very poorly visible especially when rain and winter are high humidity. In color images, weather conditions do not affect clarity of the image.

There are also procedures for printing a color image on a ceramic tile, which is then attached to the memory board. In patent databases, it is possible to find some documents describing the production of images on various bases. The patent application US 2007220788A1 describes the process of printing a memorial tablet on a tombstone. The solution is not similar to the present invention.

All of these procedures do not allow the color image to be printed directly on a stone surface or a tile.

Description of the solution of the technical problem

The essence of the process for printing a color image on a stone slab of any shape is that from a large part of the stone, preferably granite or marble, a plate of the selected shape is cut, which is first finely machined by the edges and the front surface, which is somewhat roughly erased. After grinding, the protective film on the edge of the tile is glued to the edge. The prepared plate is inserted into an UV printer, which has already loaded a picture to be printed. When the UV printer prints an image, the protective film is removed and the plate is ready for installation on the tombstone.

The process and the printed color image tile will be described in greater detail hereafter by means of embodiments.

The process for printing a color image on a stone slab includes: - the preparation of a stone tile, which includes: o cutting the tile of any selected shape from most of the stone, preferably granite or marble: o finely machining the edges and the front of the stone tile; o grinding or sanding the front surface of said tile sanding paper from 100 to 200; - protection of the edges with protective foil around the periphery of the tile; - installation of a prepared stone tile in an UV printer, which has already prepared a picture to be printed; - printing a color image with an UV printer; - Removing the protective film and finally polishing the edges.

The process according to the second embodiment does not include protecting the edge with the foil, since only the upper surface of the tile is finely treated, and the edges are not. Upon completion of printing a color image on a stone slab, the edge is subsequently dipped, either in an oval or angled margin.

The process for printing a color image on a stone slab begins with the selection of a stone plate of natural or artificial stone from which the desired shape of the plaque is cut, which can be oval, round, square, rectangular, triangular or optional. Natural or artificial stone can be of different colors such as black, green, gray, blue, red, and various shades of these colors. The stone slab is preferably granite or marble. The tile is finely treated with a grinder after the cut, so that all lateral and front surfaces are smooth. Then, the front surface of the tile is ground to a certain roughness, preferably with a granulation of 100 or 200, which is suitable for painting the UV-printer. The tile can also be treated with fine sandblasting. After grinding or blasting, a protective film can be glued around the periphery of the tile. If the edges are eroded after printing, no foil protection is required. The prepared plate is inserted into an UV printer, which has already prepared a computer image record and print is triggered. When the UV printer prints the image onto the substrate, the protective film is removed and the tile with the color image is ready for installation, preferably on the tombstone. In the case of another embodiment, after the image is printed on the stone tile, the edges are still wiped off, and then the tile with the color image is ready for installation.

The stone for making the tile is, as already mentioned, a preferred granite or marble, and other rocks with a structure permitting machining. The tile can be of different thicknesses and also the shapes that have already been mentioned. Instead of a protective film, the tile on which the printed image can be printed can be erased so that the edge from the front surface is shaped flatly oval or triangular and extends from edge to edge, which means that it is visible only from the thickness and stone structure.

The stone slab manufactured by the process according to the procedures described above may be of different thicknesses and shapes, such as oval, round, square, rectangular, triangular or arbitrary.

The stone tile can have a flat edge, oval or inclined. Only a color image or an image in combination with text and graphic characters can be printed on a stone tablet or plate of any shape.

Tiles or larger plates which have been processed by the method according to the invention and have a color picture and / or picture on the front surface and inscription can be placed both on the monument and on the wall of the house, the church, the museum, the fence, the wall of the lobby and various other suitable sites. A plate with a printed color image made according to the process described above may be of any shape, preferably oval and / or perpendicular. It may have an upper face for printing an edge in the same plane as a side with said surface, but it may be rounded or even cut off, with the lower side of the tile being larger than the upper one.

A method for printing a color image onto a stone tablet comprising: - preparing a stone tile comprising: cutting a tile of any selected shape from a major part of the stone, preferably granite or marble: fine finishing of the edges and a front surface of the stone tiles; sanding or sanding the front surface of said sanding sheet with a granulation of from 100 to 200; - protection of the edges with protective foil around the periphery of the tile; - installation of a prepared stone tile in an UV printer, which has a ready-made image to be printed: - printing a color image with an UV printer; - Removing the protective film and finally polishing the edges. Method according to claim 1, characterized in that the preparation of the stone tile does not include finishing the edge and protecting the edges with the foil, and after the printing of the color image, the edge of the tile is subsequently dipped into a level, oval or oblique edge. Method according to Claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the stone tile is cut out of the major part of a stone slab of natural or artificial stone with a structure permitting machining; that natural or artificial stone can be of different colors such as black, green, gray, blue, red, and various shades of these colors.
