Abstract

The invention belongs to the field of protective devices that prevent eye damage in sports ball games, especially in squash, racquet ball and tennis, more specifically in the field of eye protectors.

The technical problem that the invention solves is the construction of glasses that will reliably prevent the ball from colliding. The goggles should be made of solid material, easy to use but at the same time compact enough to prevent the ball from being damaged, loosened or shattered upon impact, which could lead to eye damage. The object of the invention is the construction of simple and lightweight goggles that will not dew.

The known solutions to the problem of eye protection so far go in two directions. The first is protection with classic glasses that have a frame and safety glasses. Mostly, these are plastic goggles that protect against the impact of a ball with strong enough safety glasses. The problem with these goggles is that the larger efforts often result in the breaking of the piles, which is an obstacle to the game. Other solutions go in the direction of the protective visor, which is also made of a transparent plastic material, which, as a visor, prevents the ball from coming into the eyes, but also into the upper part of the face. The problem with these protective visors is the cumbersome construction that the player must wear to properly attach the visor.

The solution described in US4617686 belongs to the first group and is characterized by the fact that the frame of the glasses together with the lenses is one which provides protection against eye damage.

GB2073579 describes a head shield solution primarily for squash players designed to have a transparent shield attached to the carrier. The carrier can be adjusted to the size of the head. The shield can be positioned with screws to fit the squash player.

According to US patent US4494251, there is a well-known eye protection solution characterized by the fact that it has a protective mask with an eye slot and a nose cut. The shield has two openings in the narrower sections for mounting an elastic band which can be adjusted according to the size of the player's head. This solution is closest to the solution of the invention, but is designed as a protective mask and not as safety glasses. The disadvantage of this solution is that the player has a robust mask on his head that obscures his view and narrows the field of vision very much.

Thus, neither of the solutions known so far solves the two problems at the same time, so that the shield is of light and simple construction and at the same time there is no problem of breaking.

The point of the safety sports goggles according to the invention is that the upper and lower sides of the glasses frame are approximately parallel and are at a distance of 1.5 cm to 3.5, which determines the shape of the glasses, and that the sides of the frame are rigid and made of artificial material or wire. The glasses may be classic or in combination with a strap.
