Abstract

The method involves using a current source (2) controlled according to a program. The source is connected to the neutral conductor (N) and the earth conductor (PE) of an electrical system contg. the circuit-breaker e.g. DC FI-type (10) being tested and a test current is injected. The test current is increased according to the test program and is automatically detected and measured at the instant at which the current sensitive component of the connected breaker responds. For all current breakers a response of the AC sensitive trigger circuit is prevented.
