Abstract
A TEMPLATE FOR PRINTING CHEQUE WITH STANDARD PRINTERAbstractA template for printing cheque with standard printer. It is made of high-temperature film that comprises of two layers — (1) top layer with (3) die cuts and (2) bottom layer. The area of the (3) die cuts on the (1) top layer are cut according to the written portion of the cheque. With the combination of the two layers (1, 2), the (1) top layer and (2) bottom layer creates a (4) pocket space between them for inserting the cheque into the template. The template is then place into the printer feeder/tray for printing with the use of software.
Description
A TEMPLATE FOR PRINTING CHEQUE WITH STANDARD PRINTER
This innovation relates to a template for printing cheque with standard printer. It is a printing assistance tool.
The known cheque printing templates have two flaws. The first one is in its material, and the second one is in its structure.
The flaw in material is that many templates material cannot withstand the high temperature of the laser printer. It may melt or shrink, leading to jams, even damaging the drum.
The second flaw on the structure is that all known cheque printing templates comprise of only one layer. There are two types of method for securing the cheque onto the template. The first method is to cut 4 slits on the template, insert each corner of the cheque into each of the slits (refer to Figure 3). The second method is to cut many clip-like slots, and then insert the cheque under these clip-like slots to secure it (refer to Figure 4). The flaw of such template based on one layer structure is that no matter how the cheque is placed on the template, there will be some parts of cheque that are separated from the template, or put simply; the cheque is on the template and not in the template. So there will be a possibility that the cheque would be stuck inside the printer when printing, consequently the whole template may jam in the printer. Another flaw of such template is that during printing the template has to be curved inside the printer. There will be possibilities that the clip-like slots may protrude out and get stuck at the inkjet printer head. —— oo ___*GO0O0O1*
To overcome these flaws of the existing cheque printing templates, this innovation will provide an improved type of template for cheque printing. It is made of high-temperature film with two layers structure that will greatly minimize the risk of printing jams.
Figure 1: Overview of the cheque printing template according to the invention; (1) Top layer (2) Bottom layer (3) Die cuts (4) Pocket space
Figure 2: Shows the separation of the top and bottom layer; (1) Top layer (2) Bottom layer (3) Die cuts
Figure 3: Shows one of the known cheque printing template with slits
Figure 4: Shows one of the known cheque printing template with clip-like slots
As shown in Figure 1, the carrier comprise (1) top layer and (2) bottom layer. The two layer structure can minimize the risk of printer jam because theoretically the cheque is almost covered by the template. It remains flat inside the template during the whole printing process and there will be no edges that may protrude out contacting any parts inside the printer. In this way, it is just like printing a normal film and presently almost all standard printers’ support film printing.
As shown in Figure1 there are (3)die cut areas on the (1) top layer of the template, we call it the printing area, the function of printing area is to expose all the written portion of the cheque, so that the cheque can be printed. The printing area can be one big area or can be many small areas. When putting the cheque into the template, the printing area should cover all the written portion of cheque.
As shown in Figure1 and 2, after combining the (1) top layer and (2) bottom layer, there will be a (4) pocket space. The (4) pocket space has two functions, one is to cover the cheque so that there is separation from parts inside printer, the other function is to secure the cheque in place, making it not move during the printing process. In the actual production process, the (1) top layer can be A4 size and (2) bottom layer can be of a cheque size, this will make production process easier and saving of raw material. There are many methods to combine the two layers e.g. pasting, folding and inserting, Hot-melt etc. When producing this template, we can leave one side of the pocket space open as an opening. When printing a cheque, insert cheque into this opening and place the template into the printer feeder/tray with the use of software to print.
The cheque printing software to be used for this cheque printing template can be of any software that has typing, layout and print function.
Claims (6)
- A TEMPLATE FOR PRINTING CHEQUE WITH STANDARD PRINTER Claims: 1. Atemplate for printing cheque with standard printer. It is made of high-temperature film that comprises of two layers — (1) top layer with (3) die cuts and (2) bottom layer. The area of the (3) die cuts on the (1) top layer are cut according to the written portion of the cheque. With the combination of the two layers (1, 2), the (1) top layer and (2) bottom layer creates a (4) pocket space for inserting the cheque into the template.
- 2. The carrier of claim 1, wherein: made of high-temperature film, can withstand the high temperature of the laser printer, without melting or shrinking.
- 3. The carrier of claim 1, wherein: comprise (1) top layer and (2) bottom layer, there will be a (4) pocket space between the two layers after combining them.
- 4, The carrier of claim 1, wherein: the area of the (3) die cuts on the (1) top layer are cut according to the written portion of the cheque. The (3) die cut areas can be done in one big area to expose all the written portion of the cheque or many small areas for each written portion, no matter one area or many small areas, the total size of cut area is less than the size of cheque.:
- 5. The carrier of claim 1, wherein: the height of the (4) pocket space is the same as the height of cheque, or the width of the (4) pocket space is same as the width of cheque, or both height and width of the (4) pocket space are same as the height and width of cheque. This is so that the cheque is unable to shift in place when the cheque is placed into the pocket space.
- 6. The carrier of claim 1, wherein: the size of the (1) top layer and (2) bottom layer are both greater than the size of cheque and less than or equal A4(210mmx297mm).
