Abstract

This invention relates to a propulsion system in a vehicle. In a preferred embodiment, the propulsion system (202) comprises: a transmission system (302) arranged to propel at least one wheel (320) of the vehicle in the form of a bicycle (200); a pedal assembly (300) having a first and second elongate members (304, 306) pivotably connected to a fulcrum, each of the first and second elongate members (304, 306) are configured to alternate between a first position and a second position to drive the transmission system (302) to propel the at least one wheel (320); wherein a relative angle between the first and second elongate members, with respect to the fulcrum, forms an angle of less than 180 degrees.
