Abstract
WHOLLY AROMATIC POLYESTER AMIDE AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME The present invention provides a wholly aromatic polyesteramide that exhibits both a satisfactorily low melting point and a satisfactory heat resistance and provides a method for producing same. The wholly aromatic polyesteramide according to the present invention comprises constituent units (I) to (VI) as essential constituent units and contains, with reference to the total constituent units, 50 to 70 mol% constituent unit (I), at least 0.5 mol% to less than 4.5 mol% constituent unit (II), 10.25 to 22.25 mol% constituent unit (III), at least 0.5 mol% to less than 4.5 mol% constituent unit (IV), 5.75 to 23.75 mol% constituent unit (V), 1 to 7 mol% constituent unit (VI), at least 1 mol% to less than 5 mol% for the sum of constituent unit (II) and constituent unit (IV), and 100 mol% for the sum of constituent units (I) to (VI), wherein the molar ratio of constituent unit (VI) to the sum of constituent units (V) and (VI) is 0.04 to 0.37. The wholly aromatic polyesteramide according to the present invention exhibits optical anisotropy when melted. 37
