Abstract
Title of Invention: METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MANUFACTURING OPTICAL FIBER RIBBON 5 Disclosed is a method for manufacturing an optical fiber ribbon 1 in which adjacent optical fibers 3 are connected intermittently in a length direction. The method involves: feeding the optical fibers 3 along the length direction; and 10 applying a resin 9 intermittently in the length direction by rotating, between adjacent ones of the optical fibers 3, a rotating member 220 having a recess 220A. The moving speed V2, in the length direction, of a peripheral edge part of the rotating member 220 at a position where the peripheral edge 15 part of the rotating member blocks the resin 9 between the optical fibers 3 is slower than the feeding speed V1 of the optical fibers 3. 20 Figure 3.
