Abstract
Method of selecting, via a terminal, a communication mode for exchanging data with base stations The present invention relates to a method of selection (50), by a terminal (20) of a wireless communication system (10), of a mode of communication to be used to exchange data with base stations (30) of said wireless communication system, said mode of communication being selected from among at least two different modes of communication associated with 5 different respective geographical zones. Said method (50) comprises steps of: - (51) reception, by the terminal (20), of a surveillance message emitted by an aircraft (40), the surveillance message comprising an information on the position of said aircraft, - (52) estimation, by the terminal (20), of the geographical zone in 10 which said terminal is situated, as a function of the aircraft position information extracted from said surveillance message received, - (53) selection of the mode of communication as a function of the estimated geographical zone of said terminal (20). 15 Fig. 3
