Abstract

A data analysis apparatus performs multivariate analysis with data items on statistical samples. The data analysis apparatus (50) includes a storage (52) and a controller (51). The storage records statistical data (X) for managing the data items per statistical sample, and group information (Y) indicating an arrangement order of groups formed by statistical samples. The controller performs calculation processing based on the statistical data and the group information. The controller calculates, based on the statistical data, a kernel matrix (K) in which a matrix element represents a relationship between a statistical sample corresponding to a row number and a statistical sample corresponding to a column number of the matrix element in the statistical samples. The controller performs calculation processing based on a partial least squares method under a condition defined by the kernel matrix and the group information, to calculate a score for the statistical samples.
