Abstract
Computer system and computer-implemented method for processing deposition in the form of cash or a cheque A deposition server for processing deposition in the form of cash or a cheque electronically is described, the deposition server comprising at least a computer processor and a data storage device, the data storage device comprising non-transitory instructions operative by the processor to i) receive, from a personal electronic device of a customer making a cash or cheque deposit into an account of the customer, deposition details, the deposition details comprising a deposition type, a deposition amount, customer account details and an identification of an issuer; ii) identify an issuer server associated with the issuer based on the deposition details; iii) transmit, to the issuer server, a transaction authorisation request, the transaction authorisation request comprising a request to verify the deposition details; and iv) receive, from the issuer server, a transaction authorisation response, the transaction authorisation response indicating an approval or a refusal to proceed with the deposition.
