Abstract

APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR SELF-CHECKOUT AND PAYMENT There is provided a method and apparatus for self-checkout and payment. The method 5 includes, in one or more electronic processing devices: pairing a user device with a self- checkout apparatus; capturing, at the self-checkout apparatus, a signal containing information for at least one product; extracting, at the self-checkout apparatus, the information for at least one product; receiving, from a retailer server, a payment quantum based on the information; receiving, at the self-checkout apparatus, first instructions to make payment to a retailer using 10 a payment system; and initiating, at the payment system, the payment to the retailer.
