Abstract

The routing device (30) includes a number of virtual, logically separated routing means (30A, 30B), each of which has its own routing processor. Each input and output port (31A, 31B, 32A, 32B) forms a separate interface associated with its own routing processor. Two or more routing means handle different types of communication network traffic and all routing information relating to a specific traffic type is handled within a single routing means. Independent claims are also included for (a) a routing system, and (b) a routing method.
