Abstract
A terminal equipment includes client (1) with functionality for data communication, positioning system, operating system with support for WWW-browser and display system. User adapted position dependent information is shown on the terminal equipment by communication via Internet or other data network utilizing Internet protocol. - The user sets up a fixed or mobile connection to Internet by Internet-provider. The client software reads the position from a global positioning system (GPS) receiver (3) and transmits the position to a server block (4) which forwards the position to GPS position correction block (GCB) (5). The GIB decides which reference station shall be used to correct the user's position. Correction data with propagation time error for satellite reception for each reference station, are sent to the client. The client software including JAVA programs transmits the correction data to the GPS-receiver.
