Abstract

The device comprises two cooperating, movable frame sections (301, 302), the first section (301) forming the bearing for a rotatable guide core (314) for the band, and the second section (302) forming the bearing for a rotatable clamping roll. Drag load on one frame section relative to the other caused by the relative movement between these two frame sections is directed against the end of a band located between these sections and extending around the core, so that it is clamped into position against this core.
