Abstract

A shell for clamping elongated objects like tubes or cables has a shell band (1), especially made of metal, which forms an almost circular arc in the closed state of the shell. It has a first tongue (3) with an elongated hole (4) and parallel grooves (9) plus a second tongue (5), with at least one rib (10), which projects almost at right angles from the arc, also with a hole (6). Through the holes a screw (7) can be passed. The grooves and the rib(s) are formed by corrugations on both sides of the tongues.
