Abstract

An automatic focus controller (98) determines optical image corresponding to optimal focus of objective (72) for each frequency band, separately. A registration controller (104) aligns the determined optimal images. An objective (72) modifies the electromagnetic radiation received from an object and emits the modified electromagnetic radiation. A camera (32) detects separate images for each frequency band of modified electromagnetic radiation of image emitted by objective. An Independent claim is also included for optical system operating method.
