Abstract

Pairs of collapsible ribs (14-16) used to support the canopy fabric (6) are connected via a first articulated joint (20) to a bracket (17) mounted on a stand (5). A second articulated joint (22) connects a first pair of ribs to further articulated joints (23, 25, 26) connected to each pair of ribs. The front ends of these further articulated joints are pivotably connected via a third articulated joint (24), and a single band (9) secured to these further joints can be pulled towards the bracket in order to open the canopy. Applying slack to the band causes the canopy to be collapsed. All ribs protrude from the front side of the stand.
