Abstract

Apparatus for slidably contacting clothing that carries a paper web and travels in a loop in a papermaking machine, has a wear ledge (23, 24) that is urged by springs into a stable operating position with a support body (20, 21). The springs (46) causes a locking bar (31) to engage clamping surfaces of the wear ledge and lock it. Apparatus for slidably contacting clothing that carries a paper web and travels in a loop in a papermaking machine, comprises a wear ledge for contact with the clothing, a support body for the ledge, and a device for mounting the ledge to the body. The mounting device has a locking bar arranged in a track (28) in the ledge. A cavity (32) is formed in the body and contains press bar (45). The support body defines hole extending from the cavity and open towards the track. Connecting elements (50) extend through the holes and are rigidly connected to the locking and press bars. Springs in the cavity act between the press bar and opposing support surfaces (26, 27) of the cavity to retain the ledge against the body in a stable position. An expandable hose (47) is arranged in the cavity to press against the press bar so that the springs are compressed and the ledge becomes free for pulling out along the locking bar. An Independent claim is also include for mounting and removing a wear ledge.
