Abstract

Slices are cut from cheese using a device with an end section (1) containing a roller (3) mounted between two journals (4), which is pressed against the cheese. In front of the roller is a knife (2) and behind its cutting edge (6) is an embossing (7) for reducing the contact surface between the cheese and knife as it is passed through the cheese.
