Abstract

The system has an adaptor and power supply units. The power supply unit (1) housing (2) couples the unit to the telephone and via a transformer/constant current device. The adaptor unit (6) housing has an adaptor coupling device coupling the unit to the normal mains coupling device, and an adaptor pin arrangement for coupling the adaptor unit to the mains power supply. - The adaptor coupling device and the normal mains coupling device co-operate such that there is continuous electrical coupling between them. The adaptor and power supply units have corresponding releasable connectors for physically securing the two together.
