Abstract

A first electrically conducting rod (2) has an end (12) with a central region surrounded by a peripheral region (53). The end section (11) of a second electrically conducting rod (1) is in contact only with the central end region of the first rod when the decoupler is fitted into a device. Springs are used to tighten the two rods together in the axial direction, as well as to secure the rods to the device they have been fitted in. The other end of the second rod is designed to come into contact with the first rod via its peripheral end region only when the rods are made to move through an angle exceeding a threshold value by the device. The two rods are electrically in contact with each other via only one of the end regions. The elastic rubber hose (3) holding the two rods has its middle section (33) surrounding the area where the rods are in contact with each other. This hose middle section complements the springs thanks to its deformation movements towards and away from the rods. An Independent claim is also included for the use of the decoupler for detecting changes in distance between a motor vehicle chassis and the floor, in order to detect tyre deflation.
