Abstract

Axial velocity of the screw is measured during part of the work or return cycle, and the obtained data is used to control the time when the axial drive force is turned off. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - A method for regulating the size of the material dose in an injection-moulding process, independently of viscosity variations in the injection-moulding material, comprises measuring the axial velocity of the screw (2) inside the injection-moulding machine (1) during part of the work or return cycle, and then using the obtained data to control the time when the axial drive force is turned off. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for the device used to carry out this control method, comprising a sensor (22) for monitoring axial velocity of the screw, a control unit (23) linked to the sensor, and a drive unit regulated by the control unit and generating the axial motion of the screw.
