Abstract

Guide pins are screwed firmly into the jawbone implant screws and each pin is mounted on a base plate used to provide the correct height and angle positions relative to the opposing jaw half section. The arrangement of pins and screws is then embedded in an imprint material. A sleeve with a hole extending through it for fitting the sleeve onto one of the guide pins is received by a hole in the base plate. Screws are used to secure the sleeve against the pin and base plate.
