Abstract
A direct current generated using a frequency-modulated voltage converter whose voltage is transformed and rectified, is supplied to an electrostatic separator unit, in which an essentially constant high voltage is applied between emission and precipitation electrodes. Current strength is regulated depending on the separation requirements by the following two different methods or a combination of these methods involving: (a) regulating current strength above a first limit by continuously supplying it at varying frequency; or (b) regulating current strength below the first limit by intermittently supplying it at constant or varying frequency.
