Abstract

The chain saw has a handle (7) mounted at the back and extending behind the back (9) of the motor housing (1) remote from the guide rail (2) in the longitudinal direction thereof. The rear handle (7) is fixed by a support arm (11) engaging over the motor housing on the anti- vibration elements (15,17) of the upper side (12) of the housing. The grip bar (20) of the handle engages over the support arm (11) at a distance (a) and is fixed by its first end (21) on the long side (25) of the support arm remote from the side wall. The support arm and rear handle lie on a common longitudinal centre axis (4). The anti vibration elements are preferably on one side of the longitudinal centre axis of the support arm.
