Abstract

A storage container (12) splits the powder up into several portions and a motor-driven dispensing mechanism (26) expels it through an opening (25) formed in the bottom. A motorised control unit (21) regulates the drive motor (18) for the dispensing mechanism depending on the amount of powder being dispensed through the opening in the bottom of the container. The opening is formed as a hopper outlet between the ends of the channel-shaped bottom wall (24) of the container. The dispensing mechanism has a rotary screw housed in the channel around the bottom of the container, divided into two transport screw sections (26A,26B) on either side of the dispenser opening that rotate in different directions and meet at the opening.
