Abstract
The method for detecting fraud in a cellular radio telephone system involves receiving a first system access over a first RF channel. A second system access is received at the system over a second RF channel. The second system access has the same mobile identification data as the first. The channel identification data is compared and fraud is determined if they do not match. Pref., the RF channels are control channels. The mobile identifying data includes a mobile identification number, an electronic serial number and a station class mark. The channel identifying data includes a channel number and a digital colour code.
