Abstract

The light source (30) is mounted on the vehicle (1,2) in a position (40) susceptible to collision, e.g. at the rear corner edges (41). The light source shines a vertical beam of light (31) in a downwards direction to illuminate an area of the ground (32) immediately below the collision susceptible position, providing the driver with a visual aid to assist manoeuvring of the vehicle.
