Abstract

Absorbent product (1) such as an incontinence pad for absorbing bodily exudates, having an absorbent core (2), covered by a fluid permeable topsheet (4) and a fluid impermeable backsheet (3). Friction-increasing means (9) are provided on a surface of the backsheet (3) for increasing the frictional contact force between the backsheet and a wearer's undergarment. A pleat (5, 5a, 20, 21, 30, 31, 32) is arranged in the backsheet (3) to at least partially cover the friction-increasing means (9). The pleat (5, 5a, 20, 21, 30, 31, 32) is openable along at least a portion of its length to reveal the friction-increasing means (9). The use of release paper is thereby avoided.
