Abstract

The socket has a metallic housing lower part (11). This has an abutment surface directed for wall mounting. The socket also has a metallic housing upper part (13) and a circuit board (12) fitted between the housing upper and lower parts. The circuit board (12) carries at least one data socket (15) and several wire connector clamps (14) to which the individual fibres of a multiple fibre data cable can be connected. A locating base is provided on the base surface (18) of the housing lower part (11) opposite the abutment surface. A data cable (36) can be fixedly clamped to one end of the locating base (25). The circuit board (12) is aligned at a first distance essentially parallel to the base surface (18). The wire connector clamps (14) are arranged on the surface of the circuit board furthest from the base surface near at least one recess in the circuit board (12). The position of the locating base (25) is determined such that the individual fibres projecting from the end section of a data cable (36) reach through the recess above it and to the wire clamp (14).
