Abstract

The invention relates to a device for roller skates (3) which enables side movement during braking, that is to say that it is possible to brake by sliding the roller skates. Quick braking is a difficult problem to master for roller skaters in tight situations. Primarly depending upon that it is not possible to slide the roller skates to stop with a brake slide, which is the normal way to stop when skating on ice. The invention solves this problem by having spherical pairs of wheels (5<1>, 6<1>) mounted on a longitudinal shaft (12), which may rotate sideways during braking. The pairs of wheels (5<1>, 6<1>) are displaced mutually so that all the time at least two wheels contact the ground (7).
