Abstract

Device for enclosing an electrophoresis gel has two parallel plates (101, 103) on opposite sides of the gel, kept apart by spacer elements (111, 113). At least one of the other sides of the gel is covered by a cross-direction strip (105) with a rectangular cross-section. Each strip is slotted into grooves (107, 109) in each of the plates. The spacer elements are on the opposite side of the strip to that facing the gel.
