Abstract
The receiver includes a selector for selecting a frame from a stream of received time domain data. A one frequency DFT mechanism performs a one frequency DFT on the selected frame to produce a complex number representing the pilot carrier. The argument of the complex number is the pilot carrier's phase. A processor derives the argument from the complex number using an inverse tangent operation. The multicarrier system is a discrete multitone (DMT) system. The receiver includes a correlator deriving a frame start signal from the stream of time domain data.
