Abstract

In a cable sleeve taping system for electrical and like cables or wires in which the sleeve is formed by wrapping the cables or wires with a rectangular plastics film 10, the film has an adhesive band 11 along one of its longitudinal edges, formed of a textile reinforcement 11a firmly connected to the film by means of an adhesive material 11b which, in the inactive position, is covered by means of a protective band 11c. The film is wrapped helically around the wires (14, Figure 3). It is covered with recessed points 12 so that when it is in place and heated it shrinks.
