Abstract

The heating element (1) connects electric current to the heating wire (4). A pattern is formed by a multiplicity of carrier wires (3,3',3'') as a direct result of a layout operation. The carrier (2) is given a predetermined shape and dimensions in order to comply with the requirement for fitting the heating element in a vehicle seat. - The pattern in the carrier includes at least a fall-away part (15,15') where a number of carrier wires (3',3'') of the multiplicity of carrier wires (3,3',3'') stop and a number of return parts (16,16') in which the number of carrier wires (3',3'') are taken up again and comprise a continuation of the pattern. The number of return parts border on at least one of the fall-away parts.
