Abstract

The invention relates to a device and to a method for rendering useless a weapon (50) that includes a magazine, in the event of the weapon being taken or manipulated unlawfully. The device (1) is configured to enable it to be substituted for the magazine of the weapon (50) and includes at least one pin (14, 24) that can be moved from a pin-parking position. The device (1) includes drive means (15, 25) for displacing the pin (14, 24) into destructive engagement with a breech block (51) and/or a trigger mechanism (52) of the weapon in the event of the weapon being taken unlawfully.
