Abstract

A ball nut comprising a screw (1) having helical threads (2) and balls (12) which are accommodated in a nut (3) for coaction with said threads and which lie in at least two planes perpendicular to the screw axis and roll between ball tracks (7, 10) which can rotate freely in the nut. The distance <u>a</u> between said planes through the centre of the balls (12) differs from the distance <u>b</u> = s/n.x, where <u>s</u> is the pitch of the screw (1), <u>n</u> is the number of thread leads (2), and x is the number of threads between said planes.
